I keep hearing about Flippa, but every time I go there or look up the history of a transaction that supposedly took place months ago it looks like fraud.

I see very inflated traffic and PPC numbers, I see sales of the same name happening over and over again without ownership changing hands.... what's going on there? Is there anything legit there, or am I just seeing the bad listings and transactions??

I personally haven't used them or follow them, but maybe some others on here could post any success/failures they had using Flippa as a buyer or a seller. :yo:

I do not like Flippa at all. Most of the auctions are complete b/s.

I also hate that they charge me to create a listing. Everything should be handled after this domain or website has been sold. They might think it'll limit the worthless listings but CLEARLY it doesn't.

Ebay is a great example. You don't pay upfront for listing fee's, closing costs or even shipping! Such a great service.

I had a $32K sell at Flippa, though the overall quality of the service / marketplace seems to be in sharp decline. Listing exposure is at an all time low, while listing fees are at an all time high. Customer service sucks royally, though it always has (the owners have always seemed like royal pricks in my opinion). I've had several error listings go without refund (caused by their back end issues).

Then there is what you're talking about, basically an absolute daily barrage of 1 page MLM lander type websites selling for 2 weeks revenue of $80K or something like that. Then a day later a near clone of the site is back up for sale with 40 bids. Not sure what is going on with that stuff, but it's been there since the beginning of Flippa. Something is seriously aloof without question on that stuff. Is Halvarez working at Flippa these days, someone should seriously look into that.

99Designs.com on the other hand does have a pretty classy legit feel to it. Absolutely cannot say that about Flippa any longer.
