Is there a way to monitor certain forums for specific keywords, without it being extraordinarily labor-intensive?

For instance, if I was in the used car business, and there were a number of forums where people post their cars for sale, I want to be alerted anytime the word "pinto" comes up in any of them because I have a long list of buyers for that make.

Can that be done?

Interesting and not a bad idea!

I'll have a look around and see if there is any way or hack out there.

I'm sure vBulliten has a plugin for it, maybe phpBB, too?

It might be called something like "keyword alerts"?
