closed Four Letter Domains

What are your thoughts or advice on four letter domains?

If they have meaning, they're good.

If they have no meaning, they're lousy.

The range of values is VERY wide in the 4-letter domain field. Gold.com and xfzq.com are both 4-letter domains - one's worth a small fortune, the other's a waste of the registration fee.
