kwok- i just got a name from someone- they are with enom- i do not have an anom account- they cant unlock it yet and need to push it- are you saying you can set up a free acct so he can push it to me? after the hold period is done can i then transfer it to my registrar?

I had an Enom acct for many yrs but recently moved the last few domains away in part due to the high $100 minimum funding requirement which is an issue if you only have a few domains in the acct and your cash balance is less than the renewal fees. Then you need to pay them $100 but perhaps you only want to renew a few names and plan to cancel or transfer away the others then you pay $100 just to renew a few and you may never use the acct again for other transactions, so in effect if you renew or reg 1 name Enom keeps $91.01 there forever since there are no refunds, even worse since they also charge a credit card fee deducted from the $100. You will also not come out even in the end since if you reg or renew some to use the funds you will have an odd balance at the end i.e. $8.44 which is short of 1 $8.99 fee so you lose it unless you pay $100 more. Such an odd business model is BS in my opinion.

I never said there was a minimum balance requirement. It is a minimum funding requirement (not balance) applicable when you are low on prepaid funds to reg or renew they require you to pay $100 minimum in to the acct using your credit card.

That is how my $8.99 acct functioned for many yrs and as recently as 2 mos ago, and a big reason I stopped using Enom.
