free forum and chat rooms

Hi all,

I actually have a website and I'm looking to add new services, forum and chat rooms. Do you suggest me to use free forum software and free chat rooms software? What are the problems I can get? What are your suggestions for someone qho wants to add a community and chat rooms to his website? Thank you.

I use SMF (Simple Machines Forum) and have had no problems, just make sure you use spam protection plugins (but that's most likely true with any forum). SMF is free and has a lot of plugins.
