How much would you try to get from an end user for FrenchFry.com? 8 billion servings of french fries are served in the U.S. every year. Mcdonalds has almost 30 Billion in annual sales and over 1 Billion of that is from french fries and they tend to be the highest margin product at a restaurant.

I have time on my side and am definitely willing to hold onto it for a while and develop it out.

P.S. any ideas for development on this?

Thanks!
Brad

you want an appraisal for frenchfry.com, the singular, but you write about french fries, the plural.
no one eats one french fry.
I still think it is worth 10-20K to an enduser.
I dont think you could do much more developement than the dude that owns frenchfries.com

Bob,

I do agree that french fries is the more popular term and I do think it is more valuable as well. The owner of that domain told me he has turned down multiple 6 figure offers. My guess is they were low six figures if he has in fact gotten those.

I will naturally create content for both french fry and french fries as they are related terms.

As far as dev goes, I was toying with the idea of a fast food type portal with coupons and information etc. as its a great brandable name not only for fast food but other things as well. I was just wondering what other ideas people had for me as opposed to "a site about french fry history" or preperation etc.

Thanks for your input Bob

So you are not the owner of this domain. 6 figures ? I find it hard to believe since nobody says French fry.

I own FrenchFry.com. I've spoken to the owner of FrenchFries.com via email before who is a different person.

Sorry, but the singular (in this case) is truly not in the same league as the plural...

I won't say (as I can't think of one) a specific price range, but I would think pretty low without some serious branding, as it doesn't - IMHO - work with the plural version really...

FrenchFry.com is brandable, cute, memorable - the value does not lie in the traditional meaning though but alternative monetization and usage. I think it's a mid $xx,xxx name max and for a reseller maybe 10-15k or so

Thanks for all the input everyone. It's pretty much in line with my own thoughts and what my other domainer friends/connections have told me. Ultimately I would like to target McDonalds or Burger King etc. as I do think it would be a great name in an advertising campaign for one of them instead of "Satisfries" like BK currently uses.

Please let me know if anyone else has any other monetization / development ideas or any other pricing input to add b/c I appreciate it!

Thanks,
Brad

I'd say on the safe-side you should be able to find a reseller/domainer who would offer 5k-ish without too much trouble. Above and beyond that might be tough as I've never heard of anyone asking for a single "french fry". Where it could actually work or make more sense is as a partial term of something longer or brandable.. take for instance a "French Fry" Maker.. other than that it is easily recognizable but seldom spoken in the singular, still a name of fair value, good luck!

Ah, now I see you talking about the true value of a different domain.

~$30K It's definitely a name to be branded away from meaning.
