Dear sales,

why do you have to domain greenhorn.com? Is it only to display a advertisment? My customer is interested in this domain because it's a belgium make of arrow bows.

Are you selling it or can i take over the domain from you?

best regards,

Antal Delahaije

Not sure how related to the topic this is but I used to sell sunglasses online and had someone email me once asking for my supplier information and who designed the website for me.

Here is one I received recently. Note the occupation of the writer:

Chuck,

Glad to see there are still people out there that think domain squatting pays. Our Familys attorney will be in contact with you shortly.

You have a good day,

Some people are complete noobs.
Sad they're allowed to use an internet connection.

I have been fed that "Ive contacted the FBI" crap as well. They're just sh*tting around.

I actually TRIED to contact the FBI for a serious matter and it took me like a month to actually find an email address to appropriately report someone trying to hack me. It wasnt worth it.

Well why would anyone want to contact the fbi? What good would it even do them? lol
I was talking to a friend that said
"My dad called the F.B.I about a popup he got on his website for no reason"

Just last night a nasty email re one of my .us webstes from a guy apparently duped by disguised headers saying:

"Checked the attached list and found Virus 'W32.Netsky.P' found. If you DO NOT want me to report this to FBI and send you back the infected file I would suggest you close your site down NOW. It appears your site has NO relationship to the US government and I'm sure the FBI will be intrested in it being on your server."

How about you buying mine XXXXXXX for US$ 1300 with that will give you a free welcome pack and lots of accessories to educate you on good marketing strategies which may help you make more sales.

Yours Sincerely,

Hmmm, I guess I am not special enough to get these types of emails.

I just get offers in the $40-$400 range from people.

And thank you for this thread,

I will be sure to edit my email templates now. I think I'll use "Can I permanently borrow your unused domain?".

Hi guys. Just wanted to let you know that I am willing to take the planer.biz domain off your hands so you have not lost money on it. By now you will have realised that no one else wants it - the .biz domains were really a dead loss. As I have the planer.com and .co.uk domains already I might as well try and add the others. You know that no competitor of planer can use the domain so you are only left with woodworking people who are not interested.
--------------------
needless to say that i canceled the negociation
(btw the domain also is a german word and means planner..)

In a negotiation I mentioned that the term had 6 million matches in Google, thus showing it had value. The prospective buyer said "There's a new trend now in the domain name market, where one doesn't want to be lumped in with 6 million other pages, and so being less popular is better."

I told him to go register lkjshgtjdslkhgslkj.com, and he'd be #1 for that term. :)
