I recently got a CD in the mail from William Hill bookmakers, with whom I've placed rare bets on things like Euro 2004 and cup finals etc. The CD had Poker and Casino Software on it...... So i installed it and bought some chips, lost them all, bought more to win back what i lost, and lost these too. I'm now an (even poorer) student than I was before, plus I'm also in a foul mood and want to buy more chips!

Does anyone here have a positive experience of online casinos? :-D

Roulette is easy to win at really if you have enough to gamble.

I've done OK with online texas hold'em. I'm used to real life gaming for hold'em.. it's a completely different experience.

LOL! What makes you even THINK that gamblers *could* win AT ALL, either on-line or off-liine (in brick and mortar casinos)? It's STATISTICALLY proven and as such a business model. The only way to win is to a) NOT gamble a lot but very occasionally, AND (not "OR") b) be very lucky that day.

And if you really *need* to win something, try Sic Bo (bet on only "big" or "small", and forget about other stuff), or better still, the roulette (again, bet on only "red" or "black").

One more tip: set a target. If you lose all chips that day, don't buy, or even worse, borrow more. Leave, and come back at least a week later. If you win, don't stop when you hit the set target, but when you lose and fall back to your set target.

I've been to big casinos around the world (in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Macau and Monte Carlos), but I don't "like" gambling, partly because I know of at least 2 close friends (or ONCE close friends) whose families were ruined by gambling.

easy to win roulette if you bet on red and black as nameslave said, but you need to have some capital.

e.g. you start with 5 million dollars

bet 2 million on red - lose

bet 3 million on black - win

see. you are 1 million plus after a few mins and you STOP playing.

Just bet more than you have lost in total and you win cash after 2-3 games

I've done ok playing blackjack online (I think I'm up about $10,000 or so, but it can be very volatile).

Much better to be the "house", via gambling affiliate programs, etc.

Could work but you need to have an awful lot of money. The tables also have a max bid so you can't go on increasing your bet forever.
This technique could give you small potatoes but you won't win big.
And remember it's less than 50% chance that a specific color comes up because of the green numbers...

I only bet on sports, with Sports Interaction, and almost always end up with a positive balance at the end of each month...You have better chance of making money in sports betting than with casino games. However, if you are not a real sports fan, it would be hard for your to make money. Whether you are playing casino or betting on sports, the key is NOT to get addicted.

i agree with marketsript.

the easiset way to make steady and solid money is to bet on sports (pick the one you know most about.) if you're very knowledegable and if you can control yourself, you are almost always ahead.

The red/black increase system is called a Martindale system, and fails due to table maximums and non-infinite bankrolls.

I play blackjack and count cards. I have a 1.8% advantage over the casino, over time. The key is over time. Percentages only work over time. In the short term, there are swings both ways.

I play craps for fun. The house has the edge, and they win in the long run. I go into that with my eyes open to the fact.

My real money-maker is Hold 'em. Playing 10-20 at a casino, I can clear $500 to $1000 a night, on average, playing for 8 hours.

Playing 2-4 and 5-10 online, I make less, and I've found it's not nearly as fun as playing live.

Tournaments are another animal entirely.

I have had a good experience playing Hold-Em and Omaha online. I am up several K.

As somebody mentioned, it is all about over time. Short-term, your variance can be large. You have to look at the big picture and play over time.

The roulette "zero" doesn't help either.

roulette is where the money's at. lol.

i was up $14k last trip to vegas (betting $1k/red/black), got cocky, started
tripling my bets and finally lost it all. though i didn't lose any money i actually
brought in. the guy who was sitting next to me dropped $27k over the course
of the night. we played from 12 am until 7 am. mmm.

can't wait till next month.

Man, you must be either rich or stupid! I'd love to go to Vegas, but by the time I'd paid for the flight I'd have nothing to gamble
