We are getting many offers on this and trying to figure out where the valuation is these days.

I suppose in this case you need to estimate the price from existing offers.
In any case your domain name worth as much as real buyer is ready to pay.

$xxx is way underestimating this one. For instance, PerfumeDeals.com went for $6600 in January. And GameDeals.com is a much stronger domain than that.

It is a great domain across multiple well-funded industries, and it could go for a ton to the right buyer (which is why domainers would be attracted to it). Of course, the right buyer (with the right budget) may never come along, but this one has strong potential IMO.

You can use http://dnsaleprice.com to look up similar past domain sales.

Thanks Nathan, you're right on the money. We did sell it for a nice sum, way above what perfumedeals.com sold for and $xxx..;)

Congrats on the sale. *deals.com sales have been steadily on the rise for a while now, aside from HotelDeals.com going for $171,250 in 2006. Yours sounds like it's among the largest reported *deals.com sales as of late.

congrats on the sale, but deals.com aren't worth much IMO

xxx at most

let's see the big one is now 1.6M range alexa, nothing in traffic for a mass appeal item

so it's a shopping cart site with NO TRAFFIC

why would anyone throw money on a deals.com without having MILLIONS to brand it?

no idea, but good money chasing lousy domains IMO

but if it's sold, great

domainers hitting it nice and moronic developers with big dreams and no clue going broke

none of this post fix stuff has long term value IMO unless the buyer has a big budget to brand it

NONE

but heck this is for domainers not guys having to make money on what they buy from domainers

so congrats, another way other priced domain sale that will most likely NEVER do any traffic

now, deals.com or in a around 6 tld's with no niche

NICE

I can see value in that

hang a thousand sub domains on it

put up nice front door and you'd have a ton of deep pocket VC's lining up to do 2nd and 3rd round SUC funding

car.deals.tld
plane.deals.tld
hotel.deals.tld
travel.deals.tld
vacation.deals.tld

now that keyword is a gold mine

but these postfix .com's aren't worth much IMO

but it's nice to see domainers looting dummy investors

LOL

great score

I could use some of you to make real money selling legitimate stuff to end users

LOL

just kidding

not jealous bro, I do this for a big living

deals is an overblown keyword in 'reality'

6M searches globally 'wild' but almost NOTHING exact 70K

so that tells you it's a fragment market

so you can't dominate with a few keywords, so nothing keyworddeals.com will ever bring much free organic traffic, it's all big budget branding projects

and VC's do not like to brand stuff

now if you think 9K local wild searches for game deals is worth more than xxx, good

I got a bridge for you to buy it crosses downtown manhattan and the heights of brooklyn

600 exacts is NOTHING

so that's the big gem you sold

congrats, whatever you got, you made out

the other side got NOTHING

a dream

now if you think I'm jealous of a minor sale, whatever bro or sis

I could care less

I'm saying what it's worth xxx max

and it's based on the only thing that matters

searches

no cpc for the term, and no searches

so to me

it's a lousy domain you got a nice little check for

cash it fast

it may bounce

whoever ponied up for it doesn't know what they're doing IMO

so the value is XXX you asked for an appraisal and I'm one of the few guys here that does that professionally

yet a value is what some sucker will pay for a low value name

so you made a nice score

3 years form now that site won't be doing anything

UNLESS someone with huge bucks brands it

and those type of deals are few and far between now

VC's have zero interest in red holes

you know what a red hole is

you lose money for a long time dumping and dumping VC into it

hoping it turns into a black hole (making money)

that domain is a dog

xxx max

and if you base it on the potential search traffic it's probably low xxx

now you don't like my appraisal ok

but that's why it's a low end value name IMO

no matter what some fool paid for it

so congrats

you made a hit

let's see if it's reported

I think GameDeals.com is a nice domain - for resellers I can agree with a high xxx to low xxxx evaluation. End user could be pretty high though...I think it could be 5 figures.

I would want to develop this to get the most out of it though...it will be a lot of work but could be a full time gig and can pay out nicely.

Much agreed, especially since games, as commodity products, are just a matter of outpricing the competitor in order to succeed at selling them. There's no question of demand, there's no technology to become obsolete, and there's no varying factors to create hassle for the vendor (i.e. sizes, colors, etc. - exactly why it's so hard to sell clothes online).

'game, games' and 'deal, coupon' domains have been selling for high figures lately, and this domain combines the two.

xxx range is way too low, it's at least a high xxxx to xxxxx domain.

traffic doesn't matter in this case, this is the kind of domain that might just suit the business idea. if a buyer really thinks the domain is what they want the question of traffic often doesn't come up.

most online activity involves either social interaction, games, shopping, or dating/adult.

new game deals .com

like I said

cash the check and run IMO

a game site with a 23M alexa isn't in business bro

they're gonna do nothing with that name IMO

but time will tell

and if the check clears great

you made out like a bandit

Basic affiliate marketing. Whatever + deals. And you don't need millions to brand it, you can actually do it for free, I know many who have. Build out nice site for deals people are looking for. Free search engine traffic, free social media (twitter, facebook etc.) free press releases and you can go some paid routes that don't cost much either. Good old fashioned marketing, lots of free and low cost methods.
