I thought this was funny. www.safes.com

WEB PRESENCE
For all of you people out there who think that a domain is ONLY web presence. I hate to break the bad news to you but the Internet was used long before you found out about html and web pages (yes www.safes.com ® was here before that). In order to save you and me both time. I DO NOT WANT TO DEVELOP THE SITE AS A WEB PRESENCE. In other words I don't need your outstanding ability to make it pretty so stop the email telling me I should check out your work, and how cheep you are

The only reason it answers port 80 at all is because I got very sick of hearing from all the winers emailing the domain administrator saying I am illegally sitting on a domain and not using it. For all of you get a life. There is much more to life than a web presence, and no rules saying that a domain MUST have a web presence.

ALSO
I am NOT interested in click through advertising. Ever heard of email, ftp and all of the other services that the internet provides. Well that is what safes.com ® (yes that is marked also) is used for NOT web presence.

Some days I think this is the most popular name in the world.. And for all of you who constantly send me email asking if the domain is for sale the answer is NO, if I had a dollar for every email offering me 1000.00 I would already have over 500K

And No I am not interested in renting you use of domain name either..

Also for all of you domain speculators stop the email's and phone calls you are wasting your time... Fred

For the right offer it's for sale.

He says he's been offered 1000 about 500 times.

Maybe it's time for Greg to up the offer ;)

I find this quite interesting, he is obviously making money off the domain, at least I would assume that is the case... It would be pretty easy to add a redirect or something to monetize traffic to the domain without hurting the existing use, but who knows...

How would he be making money? I'm sure its some old senile douche bag..last time I talked to him he quoted me a price but I can't remember what price he quoted me. I also love it when people say that something is trademarked though there is no record for it. I get emails from people everyday that had this attitude a year ago that now are begging me to buy it from them.

Humm...
I don't see anything wrong with it.
He register the domain, so, he can do (or not do) whatever
as long as it's legal and permittted.

For some although very rare, money is NOT everything, REALLY.

Other similar site - purple.com?

Wow! Why does he automatically have to be old? Wacko? Senile? Alzheimers? Not everyones domains are for sale, and if they are, not for chump change. MANY folks fall in this category. They could care less about ppc, etc. To each his own I say.

Heaven forbid he uses HIS domain as HE desires...and makes it clear he's not interested in anything anybody wants to offer.

You can use YOURS as YOU desire! I doubt he'll be starting a thread about your domain usage.

Have you guys ever heard of live and let live?

I was curious why he registered a trademark for this domain. But I can't find any records in TESS for "safes.com".
Tons of people add the TM sign to their logo or their site even though it's not registered as a trademark :p
It's probably not.

True, but this is what I was commenting on:

Registered where? :)
