Saw for the first time today an ad in the Globe and Mail for their mobile website, using:

Globeandmail.mobi

they used to use a different url for it, now it looks like they are going with .mobi, and millions more Canadians are now seeing the .mobi extension in their newspaper every day.

say what you will, but getting the .mobi extension in front of the public in this way is significant. What better way to get the public used to .mobi than by having them check their daily news.

Newspapers seem to be jumping into the mobile web - guess they don't want to get caught napping again! Lots use their .mobi too.
