A recent thread in another forum prompted me to check Go Daddy's legal fine
prints and look for how long they'll "keep" an expired name. Apparently they've
now changed it from 30 days:

http://web.archive.org/web/20050213...al_agreements/show_doc.asp?se=+&pageid=REG_SA

The Renewal Grace Period is currently 30 days but subject to change under the terms of Section 2 of this Agreement.

To 12 days:

http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/legal_agreements/show_doc.asp?se=+&pageid=REG_SA

The Renewal Grace Period is currently 12 days but subject to change under the terms of Section 2 of this Agreement.

Heads up.

awesome! ya snooze, ya lose... :)

godaddy has something like 2.5m domains parked with em right now, plus they have been updating/customizing their ppc landing pages... they must of found a new revenue stream and they are really liking the possibilities.

i wish, hope and prey more registrars do the same.... yesss! :cheeky:

day 19 to 29 after the the domains expires, it shows up in tdnam.com expired domain auctions, if you are winning bidder (backorders count as bids too) you get the domain on day 43 assuming original registrant does not pull it out of redemption
