I clicked on Google's link on their home page... "Donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort." That takes you to an Amazon page to donate, and in the upper right corner there is a box that says...
"If your donation is $250 or more, Amazon.com will share your name, credit card billing address, and the date and amount of your contribution with the American Red Cross."
--So, thats the reward you get for donating more than $250... you get to go on the Red Cross mailing list and be bothered for more contributions later?
I think the best way to donate (other than through $DNF here, good going Adam) is through PayPal's link on their homepage. It goes to the United Way, they don't get your credit card information, and PayPal says they will waive all processing fees.
