With expiring auctions, it's 50/50 chance that you actually get the domain. Does anyone have an Excel or Access document of domains purchased that they can refer back to their bank account for refunds if the domain is renewed?

I would have thought your chances of getting the domain would be better than that. Most owners don't renew once it gets listed on tdnam.
