gwkg & pinkponk :
thanks, men ! good to know, i did not know you could transfer a name out of GD or its resellers, (and for 42 days !) followin exp date, wow, remarkable ! but it defies logic, why do they refuse simple pushes to my buyer's acct (on GD too) even 3 mins after the name formally expired ? that you can take to the bank, pushes w/in GD after a name has expired (GMT time set on the WHOIS) are not possible, tried it so many times, and if they must allow any moving of the names after expiring, would it not make a lot more sense to let pushes within GoDaddy work ? at least the name IS stayin w/Go Daddy, who knows what their rationale is , but this is weird....
i assume they view it this way : the moment the owner of the expired name on GD asks for a transfer elsewhere they're required to pay a transfer fee = 1st yr reg w/the gaining registrar so a "new registration" has effectively been paid, so the name is not really "expired" anymore in the sense that the GD customer or his buyer initiated the transfer process which all registrars i know include a 1-yr ext in the fee... that's the only way this makes any sense at all...
the lesson to be learned ? renew and transfer before exp date, if you can... in my case i've tried to sell a GD name till the very end and would only renew it during the no-penalty grace period if i get a buyer, or else i'll dump it, but if i change my mind now i know i can transfer it to a/o registrar, and if they have a 5.99 special or so, it might make sense... (do 5.99 transfers still exixt ? i have not seen any for sooo long...)
