From what I heard from another board, GoDaddy is blocking registration orders from Singapore due to credit card fraud. Can you believe this?

If it's true, go daddy just blocked one of the active technology country in asia... not a good business approach. You can actually send email to godaddy support.

Just learnt that GoDaddy is actually blocking not only Singapore but also Hong Kong! These silly "mountain" people just don't know that these two places are actually richer, both technologically and economically, than Arizona! Most multi-national corporates are having their Asian regional headquarters over there.

By the way, it doesn't matter much to me as a Canadian. :D

The funny thing I encounter is that I have tried many times but only able to access godaddy.com web site from Malaysia once, regardless of my connection speed.

NetSol also blocks credit card from Malaysia. We can't renew our domains online, and they purposely discard our domain transfer request. This problem is killing me... :(

Fortunately, I still can use the credit card at Namebargain and Snapnames.

Moral of the story :-

Godaddy knows sh*t about credit card fraud and how to manage it. Just goes to show what kind of backend they have.

Come on mole. It really just shows they're not interested in dealing with all the fraud and crap that comes from those countries. It's called overhead my friend.

http://www.itu.int/ITU-D/ict/cs/singapore/singapore.html

According to ITU (International Telecommunications Union), Singapore may just be one of the most wired places on the planet. Government data state that Singapore’s household Internet penetration rate is the highest in the world.

Singapore is the eighth richest country in the world (measured on a GDP per capita basis).

Singapore Internet users are also more likely to make secure connections to ecommerce sites than other Asian markets.

Good luck to godaddy. :D
