I have a client asking for .ws registration. I pointed this to********************(self-promotion edited out)** so he can register for .ws for $15. He came back to me saying that godaddy sell .ws for$9.95.

So I checked the site and confirmed ... wow!!!! This is bad marketing approach, godaddy beating it's own reseller price. IMHO, Godaddy slowly killing it's resellers.

Unlike enom, their price is $29.95 so they can give more space for resellers to resell domains to their clients (end user) in low price. Both party earn profits, not just the parent registrar.

Hoping godaddy (wwd) will realize this marketing approach.

Cheers to all,
TheWatcher

That's about par for the course with Godaddy.
I could never figure out why people who know the Dn business would use them?

A lot of us wouldn't be buying .WS names unless we could get a cheap price somewhere.
And go-daddy is the only place that I know of.

That blows about the price cut for resellers. You could get a cheaper price buying the name yourself at regular price and reselling it.

Hey, if you had not noticed Wild West Domains did lower their .Ws prices to match Go Daddy's. I asked one of the support guys there and he stated Go Daddy price tests to find the best price and then Wild West will offer that price some time after that. Not sure how much is true but Wild West has matched the price for most items that Go Daddy offers..

Hope they keep it up as I love em...

Enom just lowered the price for .us and .biz. They will also apply this business for the .com and .net. Let's wait and see.

They are going to lower .com below 6.95?!?!

If so, I am excited.

Or do you mean they may lower thier price from $30?
If so, not good.

So... you just tell me how any biz can survive with regular prices
of 5.95$ for registration...
Is there any profit left???

.biz and .us are managed by a different company than Verisign. I'm not sure if registrars have to pay $6 for a .us or .biz registration.

Well, if their prices are below cost, an anti-trust lawsuit would be interesting...
