Alright, i registered a .nu domain with them, 3 days ago, and I changed its nameservers. Now, 3 days later, my domain's nameservers still haven't changed, I can't seem to do anything since it says "Pending Updated - Locked" and their support isnt of much help.

What should i do? Help! :sigh2:

This is what they said :

Changes to the settings of a domain take an average of 48 hours to become effective because of the number of networks involved, and because these networks are controlled by several different agencies. This delay applies to all domains with any Registrar, not just Go Daddy. Please allow for this delay when planning web sites or configuring a domain to work with your services.

Please contact us 48 hours from the requested change if the problem has not resolved itself and we will be happy to investigate the issue further.

However, even after 48 hours nothing has happened. On emailing them again, they are telling me to change the nameservers again :
Thank you for contacting Online Support. You will need to remove the following nameservers from your domain for your site to resolve correctly.

NS35.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS36.DOMAINCONTROL.COM

Some cctld's require a fee in order to make any changes, including contact info and name server change.

... and their support isnt of much help.

ditto. my advice is to just call them straight away, don't even waste your time writing emails and waiting for replies. my only time using their support i spent about a week volleying emails back and forth, and everytime i got a response it was a very obviously 'copy and paste' reply which showed that they basically were not even reading my questions since their answers had nothing to do with what i was asking. just make a phone call and at least you know you're dealing with another human being.

its odd because they are probably one of the few that don't outsource their C.S. yet they still suck

well, you shouldn't be. they have over double the market share of their nearest competitor, so of course you hear complaints about them. personally, i've never had anything bad happen, though i'll admit i've heard stories (like everyone else).

yea, i'm just going by my lone horrible experience w/ them. but aside from all that, i also think that their site navigation is balls, and they would try to sell you your arm as an extra feature if it wasn't already attached to your body. anyone who doesnt know about domains could easily walk outta that checkout process dropping like $300 on 1 .com w/ all the extra features and whizbangs they would have you thinking you 'need' (and thinking you saved $1499 on regular price for all of them together lol) this is just one mans opinion. (and not sour grapes btw, i just hate having to navigate through all of it, feels like dodging spitballs)

To resolve your problem, simply call them. It's worked every time for me.

I have to give them kudos cos they are actually huge and their marketing tecnique, though shady, is effective. For example, if you don't specify ONE year in your reg. You'll ge and PAY for 2. Plus, if you're not careful, you could erroneously click on a "other" names that are basically the same but with other extensions. Their whole system is a landmine for "adders."

As a user it can be annoying, but as a Bob Parson, well... He's smiling everytime he goes to the bank.

Never liked GoDaddy.. the 10 pages of upsells before registering any name is an instant reason not to use
