What is up with them? Haven't been able to backorder names for like the last 6+ hours as they always say the name is available.

To add to that, I had a backorder with them today & haven't received any emails from them if they got it or not.

I only had one back order for today, but haven't had a notification yet either, and the domain isn't in my account (yet), either.

I also had problems with names incorrectly stated as being available a day or so ago.

I know this sometimes happens at a certain point in the drop cycle, but I seem to remember this was happening for names at any stage, although not too sure about that.

Everyone seems to be having that problem. Please make sure to send them an email. And I am not sure why the notifications didn't go out today, waiting on my 10 names :)

Yep, same here. Something screwy today with the system for sure.

I jsut got off the phone with Godaddy. They were aware of this happening to only 2 customers so far (available error). Everyone that has this error needs to notify them.

They are looking into the reason why notification emails weren't sent yet today. And I am working on a few needed additions to their services.

If anyone has any ideas on what can make the backorders better, or the investors edge section, please post them here.

They are willing to give us what we need, so come on guys give em some feedback.

At the moment, the most helpful improvement I can think of is to find a way of preventing names in the deletion cycle showing up as available.

This is a bit frustrating.

And then of course they could always look for another registrar or two, preferably ones who are currently working for Pool ;-)

I don't think they will find many registrars willing to do so, at their current prices.

No, I don't for one moment suppose they will. No harm in a little wishful thinking though?

I have just got my success notification. I received it while I was writing my e-mail to godaddy support, and only noticed after I had hit the send button!

I have had a huge problem with them the last three days. I have been unable to change ANY of my 30+ backorders. No matter what domain I put in - it says the domain is available and will not let me place a backorder on it (even though it is not available and their system says the backorders are available for purchase). I have sent them a dozen messages the last few days. This has actually been going on intermittently ever since I started using the service in June but now it seems to be completely broken around the clock for me, making my backorders useless. Today they told me they have escalated the issue by turning it over to a supervisor and they will get back to me after the development team finds out what is going on.

I had the problem last night and this night. It worked OK in the daytime yesterday.

I e-mailed them about it and they sent me a nice note explaining how domain names dropped. They didn't get my question at all.

I haven't gotten anything but names that may have had an $8.75 NW bid for about six weeks now. If it's vaguely competitive, they miss. They got RadiosBest.COM for me today (it is taken only in .COM) and missed the other 7-8 names. SNAPS and DropWizard missed some of those too. Pool got most of them. I can bid on them now, of course!!

GoDaddy has had a problem with names randomly showing up incorrectly as being available for as long as I can remember. They will never fix the problem. They don't think a problem exists.

GoDaddy never realizes when they have a problem, and when you tell them about it, they usually give you some stupid response telling you to clear your cookies or something silly like that. It's like they don't even read what you tell them. They just copy and paste something from the FAQ. That's why I switched from GoDaddy to eNom. At least when eNom has a problem, they usually acknowledge the problem or look into it. I know you're talking about GoDaddy's backorders. I'm just saying how poor their technical support is.
