Any member can advertise if they upgrade. By opting for the gold membership, you chose not to advertise.

I am also starting a poll in another thread - It is titled Hyundai Owners Unite. I would appreciate support from those who think the car dealer should have delivered a Ferarri instead of the Hyundai I ordered.

I think ALL non-paying members who have joined DNForum.com since May 2002 or earlier AND with at least 900 posts as of today should be given a FREE Platinum membership plus DNF$8,000. LOL! :D

Don't worry, there are NOT TOO MANY such members.

I became a Gold Member when posting in advertising was allowed. I think that I should at least get a discount for platinum or a refund.

But that's when EVERYBODY's allowed to do so, including non-paying members like me, right?

You do get a discount when upgrading from Gold to Platinum.

I forget what I paid for gold, it was 10 or 15 dollars. I do remember that the platinum membership at that time was $49.95. So basically upgrading from gold is just additional money to what i already paid. It beats buying a new membership from scratch. I still think gold members should get something for this advertising change. How about 1000 Dn bucks?

Frankly, it all depens on how the owner (i.e. gregr) want to market his paid membership.

If upgrading from Gold to Platinum is actually cheaper than buying a Platinum out right, it would DEFINITELY and SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the number of Platinum members when the campaign started a while back.

The only way that upgrading is non-penalizing or even less is when the Platinum membership has kind of reached its plateau and gregr is interested in bringing more Gold members to the next level. However, the current membership structure (of MORE Platinum than Gold, a bit strange and non-mainstream from most other similar 2 or 3-tier payment plans) does not warrant such discount.

Just my observation. Correct me if wrong. Comments welcome.

Save room for the Plutonium membership. It even glows in the dark. ;)

You should just get rid of gold and just have the other two.

well, gold allows you to post and read, but not auction, chat, or sell right?
