nice to finally have the option of having the keyword optimization done manually as well as in real-time... woohooo!

Hello,

We are happy to announce a new GoldKey.com system enhancement that
will result in more relevant keywords on your parked domains. You can
now specify an overriding keyword for each of your domains that will
be used instead of the keyword derived from just the domain name. The
system will try to make the keyword you enter the domain's primary
keyword and match the rest of the keywords on the domain closer to
this primary keyword. This is especially useful for domains where the
default keyword results are displayed (Personal Finance, ....), or
where the domain name is incorrectly parsed, which results in poor
keywords.

You can set a domain's overriding keyword on the domain edit screen or
the bulk edit screens. The change goes into effect immediately since
there is no pre-approval required. There is no waiting for a review
of your changes. People who set non-relevant overriding keywords on
their domains will have this feature disabled in their account. So
please do not set non-relevant topics to your domain names.

Please note that this tool will not work for domains that are
currently on a "1 click" page. Please also note that this tool will
only display "2 click" result pages.

You can see what will be displayed for any domain/keyword combination
by going to the Tools screen and clicking on "Advertisement Data
Feed". Enter just the domain name to see what is currently displayed
without overriding or enter a domain name + keyword to see what will
be displayed when that keyword is used as the overriding keyword.

This new system enhancement will result in more relevant results on
your parked domains and therefore more revenue. GoldKey.com will
continue to enhance the system to provide more capabilities in the
future.

Have you tried it already? How well does the keyword targeting work. I'm very skeptical of moving back to Goldkey. But, if this new targeting works in real-time that is a very nice improvement.

yes, i tried it out right away and it works very well... pulls up the most relevant links to a keyword/topic.

I did what they said, entered domain with suggested keyword, domains have 2 click landers so shouldnt be effected, no change on lander test, i am not switching dns till this is resolved, once again lets make it as difficult as possible for domainers to accomplish a simple task.

I never received this announcement - how did you get it? as far as I can tell Goldkey is out of business and no one is supporting it at all. Current support ticket:

I'm spent a lot of time writing a script to create batch update CSV files. The upload works, but nothing is updated. I get messages like this:

Uploaded 665 bytes from G:Goldkey_1.csv with 4 total rows.
Updated 0 domains.

I have even used your batch export, changed a theme and description in the CSV file, put a Y in the MARK column, and imported... still zero updated domains. I have over 8,000 domains to update... what should I do? I can email you a sample CSV file if that helps.

Thanks
- Dale

Any news on this? We spent a great deal of time creating scripts and database entries for our names and would like to get them updated. Thanks.

Hello,
Please email me the file you are trying to use to upload at

[email protected] and I will take a look at it.

There are some things like the lastupdate column and the mark column which sounds like you already know about.. I'll try your file out and see what the problem is.

I have over 8,000 domains parked with them -- if they can't be bothered with fixing bugs, answering support tickets, or sending announcements then it's really time to give up on them and look at other options.

maybe the email/s are ending up in your spam folder or whatever.... dont know. hopefully you will get things resolved once and for all.

btw, all my inquiries so far have been answered the same day.... usually within a few hours. the support is good.

if i were you i'd create a new support ticket and i'd be demanding some answers or else i'd walk.... simple

it's too bad in situations like this where there is a miscommunication or whatever because in the end it is unfortunate that both parties are likely at a loss when all is said and done..... but what can you do, even the most simplest things don't always work out as they should.

1) I don't use a 'spam filter'
2) I sent several messages over the past MONTH, via email and their "HELP" desk, all ignored

That's not a "miscommunication", that's a "we don't want customers, go away now" message.

I got the e-mail, and I only have a few domains parked with them and very little traffic. I basically gave up with them, but if Mike says it works well, I will go ahead and try them out again.

Mike, please let us know if your CTR and CPM goes up as well.

UPDATE:

I was all set to switch everything away when I got a call from Theo, their programmer, at 10:30pm Pacific time. He wanted another test file, so I sent him one. The problem described above was fixed by morning.

This, combined with the new opportunity to optimize keywords, has me giving them another chance.
