I came out with a website that's in my signature. Now Should I advertise with Prweb?

Is it Pyramid?
If yes, it's illegal.
If not, please enlighten me ;)

Is it a sort of competition? I would imagine there all sorts of legal pitfalls. Are you intending to pay a million dollars to the prize emailer, as the name suggests? How long would everyone have to wait to see the results? How will you get the money back to thousands of people if you don't make the magic million? Do you have to have a licence for this kind of competition? What criteria would you use for judging the winning email? How are the competitors to know the winner isn't a friend or relative of yours? How are the competitors to know if the prize is ever awarded?

I would imagine that the logistics, including advertising and marketing, would be absolutely horrendous. But maybe that's not the idea at all. If so, the name is misleading.

On the other hand, if you didn't ask for money and simply had a prize for the person who composed the best email to be sent to Bill Gates asking for a million for his or her charity, you could award a small prize and make your money from suitable ads.

Instead of saying you'll choose the winner, say the winner will be randomly selected.

Do you know how long it will take to raise $1,000,000?
Say you get 10 people pay $5 every day, it will take 60 years!

I just checked out the site, pretty well done.

I wish you luck, but the odds are against this ever reaching $1,000,000

Staying away from the legal side, why don't you start out much smaller than 1mil? Say, $1K. Reach that goal, see if the site is even going to be remotely sucessful, and give out the first grand. then you have a winner, much sooner than 1 mil, and if your good on your word and pay out, word will travel and you can start to up the reward cash.

Thanks, I just whipped it together for him low-cost. He just wanted a basic site.

Damn, that's a really good idea actually (except for the domain name). Of course, he could still use the same domain and spin it a little bit, like you say, starting at a thousand dollars (or a hundred thousand dollars), then building to a million dollars.

Yes, the site looks good for what it is - a single-page site. The only thing is, the lack of other pages or an address, indication of who you are, and so on, does give the impression that it's a scam, albeit a better-spelled and presented one than usual.

Agreed. You need more content.

Complete your registration by sending me an email telling me why you should be the winner, what you would do with the money., etc.. Your email can't be a longer than 2 paragraphs due to me and my team having to read 250,000 emails.

When sending the $5.00 please include your name number and email address due to if your the winner we need to get in touch with you!

Some of these lines need to be re-written. Using "me" so much scares ME! Reminds ME of Junior High English.

Also, is it totally random?

The winner will be chosen after 250,000 people have sent an email.

Randomness brings uncertainty.

I think more than advertising it you might want to explain it...

JMO but i would think most people would think that was some kind of scam or gimmick.

Very good idea I am going to start at $2,000 I need a web designer anyone have a cheap designer in hand? I have to change a couple things like for example it to $2,000 then, make it a random winner. Also I thought I didn't need a license. Thanks for all the help.. I like contructive critisim it helps. Some people take it in the wrong way.

I doubt you'll ever get people to sign up. The entire copy sounds very scammy. As everyone said, reduce the amount to something like $1000. This will instill a bit more confidence.
1 million dollar is still the classic scammer number

The overblown Paypal verified, 100% satisfaction guaranteed, and "Winner!" icons are completely irrelevant and add more to the scammy feel. Make the icons smaller, remove the "100% satisfaction" icon and the "Winner!" icon. I'm not too sure about this, but I think you can pay for a certification from BBB or something...get that instead. I'm still scratching my head as to what that "Winner!" icon stands for...

Also, increase the length of the sales copy. Its too short, hiding a bit too much.

HI

I don't even think paypal would allow you to use them for something like this, I bet your account will be frozen before you even reach your goal..

As i stated above...it looked fishy just from looking at the website address.

Now i have a chance to look at the site...it looks even MORE fishy.

This is my fav part "ALL RIGHTS RESERVED!"

Why does it have an exclamation mark? Looks like it's done by a child to scam.

BBB wouldn't touch this. You have to be a legit business with a track record to be certified.

Anyone know of any good designers? I had a coder build this website. I am going to decrease it to $1,500. Can anyone here help me find a good designer?
