I got 2 good mid x,xxx sales. One was for $2,000 for a 16 letter keyword rich 3 word .com I received a mid xxx offer on it a few months ago... I declined... then the person came with an offer I couldnt say no to given I hand regged the name under a year ago. Now I can eat this week:eek:k: It's encouraging to see keyword rich names selling. I didnt post this to gloat but to encourage those who are new that there are still good names out there and profits to be made. Good domaining to all.

Congrats to your successful sale! I've been domaining for 5 months now. I've made some money here and there, but nothing to brag about.

I'd love to hear what the domain name was that sold for $x,xxx.

Strange. I've been getting offers in my email left and right the last few days.

Something going on here?

Regged a name on the 6th of this month and received a $300 offer on it last night. It's in escrow right now.

Nice ones!

There is a large influx of new investors into the market, most of whom send offers via email, which explains some of the increased activity.

Yeah... same here. I tell you what, I'm on a hold mode right now but do sell only if the offer is really worth it. I had several xxx offers that turned out big past year and a half after I reject initial offering. 3 of those offers I ended up selling mid x,xxx but they were on Afternic and Sedo so I did not know who the buyers were. All three are now major sites owned by major multi-million dollar corps. (can pm you if you want to check whois history... wish I knew, would have negotiated stronger) One of the site is a 120,000 people a month. Still kick myself on that deal. I find a lot of big corps using free emails to make offer then transferring to there corporate details. The industry got a lot of press this year thanks to trafficz and blogs and domainers just spreading the word and I feel like I am and we all are reaping the benefits so much thanks.

Are these emails you guys are getting totally unsolicited or are they in response to a posting, forum or other invitation for offers?

Just curious,

Mine were unsolicited at least I think... but I did get previous offers on 2 of them (one was a TM risk). I have all my names on all the brokerage sites. I would get an offer by email or one or two of the sites. Last one I had today was purchased at bin on Afternic which was surprising- no other extension taken. But its one of those names where it says what it needs to say. But I'm telling you, these companies/investment firms are getting smart about how they deal with us. I feel I've ben duped twice and it's not because of lack of research. It's due to lack of patience on my part to be honest with you and I remember reading that article by Dicker or was it Shwartz that talked about that.

congrats -X-

patience is VERY important...

also helps if you could care less if they sell... LOL

eMail offers have been amazing the past year... especially June-present...
fair amount of time wasters in those offers... but some pan out...

Happy Holiday Season to Everyone...

Stock Market is getting slammed and dollar is at all time lows so people are looking for alternative investment models. Lots of press on domains lately and for people outside of the USA HUGE bargains out there. Enjoy the wave. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21707734

The art of negotiation is tough - you don't want to ask too much to lose the sale, but you don't want to sell for too little. At least you turned down initial xxx offers that led to bigger deals. You can always set higher minimum offers at sedo or afternic to keep from having to think about low xxx offers. Just set the min offer to $1,500 or higher for any good domains. As for the domains going to future high traffic sites, you just never know and have to be happy with your price and move on to the next one.

Congrats on the sale! -x-

Domain sales for me have been on the decline, I thought when I moved my domains from sedopro to Parked, that I would get more inquires from the link, I do but they have nothing to do with sales. :disappointed:

Congrats on the sales.

I get a about 8-10 offers a week...only one or two serious ones though. I am tougher on the negtiations as I am in a pretty good place with my portfolio and in no hurry to sell.

I prefer the e-mail offers as sedo transactions take so long....weeks without hearing anything. Most of the time it is sedo holding things up for no reason ( I have actually contacted the buyer after the transfer finally has taken place for my last 2 sedo sales...and they tell me they paid right away and thought the hold up was on my end).

I also see a lot of uneducated offers...where they think $500 should be enough (and actualy think it is a great offer) for good 2 word generics....
