I just checked one of my main sites, and none of the google ads are showing at all. The Google Adsnese report shows no ad impressions, so no IE issues there. Able to log in and ads showing up on other istes, so no issues there. Saw this issue discussed on some other forums. Anyone have any insight.

I have a couple that they have blocked and ads will not show because of the domain , certain TM are being blocked , may not be your case but they are starting to block a lot of domains.

No TM issue. Did you get an e-mail from them at least?

Nope , no email , they just block it , they have a list and if that word is in the domain it gets blocked , the word toyota is one of them.

Well mine is http://squareapex.com, which provides news about Final Fantasy from Square Enix. I don't think this is TM issue. No close similarity, except the "square".

I agree that your domain appears to be ok , but the growing list they have I believe is coming from companies themselves complaining to google , so you never know what they may or may not block based on who is complaining, I guess it would be at googles disgression .

BTW , you have links to poker rooms , that may have got ya.

Just be happy they didn't disable your account.

Its annoying so much of one's internet success can be taken away so easily by Google. Sure, there are other programs out there...but if Adsense bans you it makes everything much tougher.

This site was earning the majority of my Adsense income, (not my domain income). I decided to write them, don't think it could hurt. I really can't afford this. This is part of my living. There is really little other options for me, except Yahoo, since I am a US citizen, but not living in the US, which would make things quite complicated.

How should I know in the future to purchase web-sites based upon income, if they can be dropped so easily?

I feel for ya , it really hurts when a dependable income is disrupted, I am pretty sure your going to find out it was the links to the poker sites that got ya.

It does suck. I lost my account a year and a half ago...and it makes everything much tougher. I want to develop a site...but I know I can't make nearly as much CPM with other places as I could have with Adsense.

For those of you with Adsense: enjoy it while you have it. It can get taken away at any time for seemingly any reason (I knew all the TOS and made very sure never to do anything to put my account in jeopardy).

I hope that's the case, since that ad is running out any day now, which was purchased here, and they (Google) agree to reinstate. Never really thought about that.

I see that google ads are placed right next to the thumb images... I'm not sure, but that's probably what made them cancel on you. Trust me when I say, they reeeaally don't like people using those images next to ads... Who can blame them really, as traffic quality goes downhill

When I originally purchased this site they were, now they aren't due to the affiliate ad. At least on Firefox they are not, i.e., about the size of those images to the right, which I never saw anything in the TOS against this.

Trust me, it's against the TOS to have thumbs next to ads in hope of getting higher CTR. Let me find you a link on adsense's blog

http://adsense.blogspot.com/2006/12/ad-and-image-placement-policy.html there you go

Thank you for the link. I will post the info here if anyones interested:

Ad and image placement: a policy clarification
We've recently received a number of emails from publishers asking how we feel about the placement of images near Google ad units. There's been some confusion on this issue, and so we turned to our policy team to set the record straight.

Can I place small images next to my Google ads?

We ask that publishers not line up images and ads in a way that suggests a relationship between the images and the ads. If your visitors believe that the images and the ads are directly associated, or that the advertiser is offering the exact item found in the neighboring image, they may click the ad expecting to find something that isn't actually being offered. That's not a good experience for users or advertisers.

Publishers should also be careful to avoid similar implementations that people could find misleading. For instance, if your site contains a directory of Flash games, you should not format the ads to mimic the game descriptions.

What if I place a space or a line between my images and my ads? Would that work?

No. If the ads and the images appear to be associated, inserting a small space or a line between the images and ads will not make the implementation compliant.

Does this mean I can't place ads on pages with images?

You can definitely place Google ads on pages containing images -- just make sure that the ads and images are not arranged in a way that could easily mislead or confuse your visitors. For example, if you run a stock photography site with a catalog of thumbnail images, don't line the ads up with the thumbnails in a way that could be misleading. Consider using a full border around your ads or changing your ad colors, for example.

What do unacceptable implementations look like?

Here are some examples that wouldn't comply with our policies.

As I mentioned previously,
1. The ads were definitely not very close to the ads,
2. if you look at the examples the image thumbs are "images and the ads are directly associated", which on my case isn't.
Lastly, why can't they just e-mail me if that's the case, it's one thing click fraud, it's another thing misleading thumbnails.

Thank you guys for responding. I received a quick response from Google. They said they sent me an e-mail in November, which I never received saying that I had been braking policy by having pages with adult content, and they sent me an example.

I get RSS feeds, which I don't monitor, which had some "adult" words, which I've promised to rectify.

I'm hoping they will reinstore the ads.

Yay, just got this.

Thank you for making the requested changes to your site in order to comply with our policies. We have now re-enabled ad serving to www.squareapex.com.

Please note that because ad serving to your site was temporarily disabled, there may be a delay of up to 48 hours or more before ads begin appearing on your site again. We appreciate your patience.

im starting to hate google

Once any company becomes overly powerful, closing on a monopoly, then you are at their mercy.

I basically removed a few 100 posts, with the words:
ba-bes, w-ore, f*ck, h*rdcore, p[rn, e-otic, b--bs, etc.
redisgned, etc. I honestly have no choice. One thing I can say is, compared to Microsoft they're angels.
