Today, I received this email from Google promoting their Search Ads on Google Mobile Search...
We are happy to announce a new feature that will allow you to easily reach additional qualified customers who are searching Google from their mobile phones. In the next few days, your search ads will be eligible to run on Google Mobile Search pages (like they currently do on Google.com).
We are offering this feature - and any resulting clicks - for free through November 18, so you can experiment with the rapidly growing mobile platform while still reaching qualified customers.
Each ad's eligibility will be determined by its landing page and only ads with landing pages that can be adapted for viewing on mobile browsers will be shown. You can monitor each ad's performance via a special performance tracking page within your account called "Performance Data: Search Ads on Google MobileSearch."
Again, you will not be charged for clicks on these ads until November 19, at which time we will begin charging the usual CPC prices. And as always, you may opt-out of this feature at anytime.
We hope you find this new feature helpful and profitable, and weurge you to learn more about it at our AdWords Help Center:http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=72226
Thank you for advertising with Google AdWords.
Sincerely,
The Google AdWords Team

4. How do I opt out?
5. Where will my text ads for mobile appear?
6. Where can I find performance statistics for search ads running on Google Mobile Search pages?
7. I'm not getting any traffic for my search ads running on Google Mobile Search pages
8. I already have mobile ads
1. Why are my text ads running on mobile phones?
If your text ads are eligible to appear on Google Mobile Search pages, they will run for free through November 18, 2007. You can opt out at any time, but you will start getting charged for them on November 19th. We'll email you a reminder and post a message on your account's Campaign Summary and Account Snapshot page as the end date draws near.
2. How do my search ads appear on mobile devices?
Your text ads may appear on mobile browsers when users search Google from a mobile phone. When users see these ads, they can click the link to your website. Ad displays with more than 70 characters are adapted so that only the Headline and URL is displayed when the ad appears on a mobile browser. Your website's landing page may also be adapted so that it's better displayed on mobile phones that do not have rich internet browsers, thereby enhancing the overall web experience for you and your potential customers.
To see what your landing page looks like on mobile phones, click the 'Preview' link at the bottom of the "Performance Data: Search Ads on Google Mobile Search" page and type in your URL in the blank field. Click 'Go' to finish and see the result.
3. What's the benefit of running search ads on Google Mobile Search pages?
Your text ads have an opportunity to reach a wider base of potential customers for free. Ads running on Google Mobile Search pages can:
Provide another way to drive revenue - the mobile version of your text ads offer yet another way to connect your business to customers.
Read and interpret performance statistics for text ads running on Google Mobile Search pages.
Reach over 200 million US mobile phone subscribers that are looking to connect with your business while theyâre on the go and away from their computers.
Drive more traffic to your site
You won't be charged for the clicks you receive on these text ads until after November 18th. Running these ads until the end date may give you more performance data, which can in turn give you more insight on whether you want to run search ads on Google Mobile Search pages after November 18th.
4. How do I opt out?
You can opt out your eligible search ads from running on Google Mobile Search pages at any time. On the Campaign Summary page, select the link that says 'View performance data for these ads' from within the alert message or below the table that contains your campaigns. On the bottom of the page that reads "Performance Data: Search Ads on Google Mobile Search," click on the link that says 'Yes, opt me out' to stop running your search ads.
5. Where will my text ads for mobile appear?Back to Top
Your text ads will appear on Google Mobile Search pages.
6. Where can I find performance statistics for search ads running on Google Mobile Search pages? Back to Top
The performance data for your text ads running on Google Mobile Search pages will be posted on a page that reads "Performance Data: Search Ads on Google Mobile Search." Please remember, your ads will only be shown if their landing pages can be adapted to fit on a mobile screen. These statistics will be incorporated into your overall account statistics starting November 19th.
There are two ways you can access your statistics through November 18th:
At the top of your Campaign Summary or Account Snapshot page, you'll see a message announcing that your ads may be eligible to show on Google Mobile Search pages. Click the link that says 'View the performance data for these ads.' This link will only appear through November 18th (unless you click 'Dismiss this message').
On the Campaign Summary page, select the link that says 'View performance data' below the table that contains your campaigns. You may refer back to this page after November 18th.
7. I'm not getting any traffic for my search ads running on Google Mobile Search pages
Your text ads for mobile may not appear on Google Mobile Search pages for reasons related to your landing page, mobile traffic to your product, or ad rank.
Unadaptable landing pages
Only text ads with landing pages that can be suitably adapted for mobile phones will be displayed. Your adapted landing pages will have the same headline and display URL as your desktop landing pages, but will be different in that they wonât display the description. This way, users will get an at-a-glance view at your site while theyâre on the go and away from their computers.
To see what your landing page looks like on mobile phones, visit http://google.com/gwt/n and type in your URL in the blank field. Click 'Go' to finish and see the result.
If you want your ad to point to a mobile version of your landing page, we suggest you link a mobile ad to a mobile web page. Please note that you will be charged when you create and run a traditional mobile text ad.

Mobile traffic
There may be little mobile traffic associated with your product. This occurs when there are not enough mobile users searching for keywords that trigger your ad to appear alongside Google Mobile Search results.
As with all your ads, we highly recommend that you optimize your campaigns so that your ads perform well on mobile phones. It may be useful to try optimizing your campaigns until November 18th so you can get a look at which practices work best for you.

Ad Rank
AdWords places the most relevant and highest quality ads at the top of Google Mobile Search result pages. Other ads will be placed at the bottom of the page, or on a later page. Since there are currently only two spots for your text ad or mobile text ad to appear - at the top and at the bottom of a mobile web page - we suggest you either increase your adâs CPC or improve your Quality Score.

8. I already have mobile text ads running. Will search ads compete against them?Back to Top
Search ads running on Google Mobile Search pages will not affect your Quality Score or the performance of your other ads. Pre-existing mobile text ads running in your account will automatically always win against a desktop text ad during the keyword auction.
Additionally, if you successfully bid on a keyword for either an eligible text ad or mobile text ad from now until November 18, 2007, you will not get charged when that keyword results in a click for either your eligible text ad or mobile text ad. This is yet another way to gain more traffic for your ads. It may be useful for you to stay opted in until November 18th to see performance statistics associated with these ads.
