I was playing with it, but there is a problem that you can't really see anything. But the idea that you can see the earth is cool!
Looks very cool, downloading it right now.

edit: Its very nice :) Funt to move around the earth, just takes a bit too load the part you are looking at from google servers.

Isn't that from Keyhole.com's purchase by Google?

yea, it was I read something about this a few months ago, how google was going to develop this, and now I see it. THanks for sharing the link. I think this program is awsome, what would be better would be higher resolution images, so you can view closer, or real time imagery, but we all know thats not gonna happen for a few decades.

Go to New York and switch the buildings on then use the tilt up/down to get on ground level - that's cool :)

All we need now is a version that shows ALL this in real-time, globally. :-O

Thanks for your interest in Google Earth, but we're sorry we can't offer you a download right now. As you know, Google Earth is in beta, and we're still building out our ability to take on new users. We're making good progress, and expect to be able to accept new downloads shortly, so we recommend you check back daily at earth.google.com. We hope to be able to welcome you and other new planet surfers soon.

We appreciate your patience,

The Google Earth Team

Wow that's illegal and disrespectful to Google..
Its somewhat disrespectful but not sure how its illegal, after all the version I uploaded is freeware. If its against GOOgles TOS or something I dont mind taking it down.

Edit:I will just remove it....

Seems that in bigger cities it is easier to see the buildings. I tried to see my place, but it has to many woods here to show my nabourhood.

Same here.. Looked at my old place I just moved from in Feb, which is located in a division surrounded by alot of Trees (Woods and etc) Couldn't see a thing.

Its fun because I called my sister up in Atlanta, asked for her address and seen the neighborhood and house she just moved into.. Kind of strange because the family is heading down there for the 4th and no one had a clue where we would be staying..

Now, on to doing Reverse Phone Lookups to find addresses to play with inside Google Earth! :cheeky:
