GOOGLE SUCKS!

Is anyone else getting this from Google. This SHI* is starting to get old. This is now the third time in about 6 weeks, when I'm getting blocked by Google from doing searches. This morning, I've been researching terms, and done maybe 100 to 200 manual searches in about 4 hours.

The message I get is:

GOOGLE(LOGO) Error

We're sorry...
... but your query looks similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spyware application. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.

We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, if you suspect that your computer or network has been infected, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your systems are free of viruses and other spurious software.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we'll see you again on Google.

Look at your browser (FireFox) extensions. SEO tools are notorious for generating this error from Google. Look at your tools and anything else related to generating page rank type data. SEO Quake for FF will get this Google reponse pretty quickly.

You're generating a query into Google (maybe). Are you using any applications for SEO purposes? If so, do any of the products mention using a proxy site or limiting the use of the tool? Got first hand experience and was related from one of my tools with FF. I turned it off and Google came back. Otherwise, not sure.

just had to frame this. i didnt realise any domainer still used ie

evryone uses firefox, safari etc..... right?:eek:k:

Yep, I'm one of the old timers - hard to change my ways. I go back to the days of the 8-track tape, dial telephones and a DOS window with the C:\> prompt. I still use a DOS window, all the time, to get stuff done, like write programs in C.

Not using any tools, except for my fingers to type in search terms. GOOGLE SUCKS. IT IS A PIECE OF S**T! Of course, I'm saying that while I'm pis*ed off at Google. But it has resumed working for me.

Yeah, seen it. Likely you made too many quoted queries, queries that include a domain extension, backlinks, etc. or one of the other kinds of searching that Google has flagged as potentially "abusive". Pretty stupid on their part, huh? But that's the power of a monopoly -- they do whatever they want and your opinion really doesn't matter.

I suggest all consider Yahoo or Bing while there remains some element of competition...? If not, Google's behavior will only worsen over time and we will have no recourse. The differences are, by and large, mostly habit and not substantive.

Cheers.
