No, I am sure that individuals will pick up domains very well if they suscribe, but it looks like the days of hand regging a dozen drops at a time are well and truely over.

I wonder how succesful might it be in recovering dropped domains?

So desktop catching is still alive ?
I'm wondering how many quality names can still be caught with all the drop registrars active.

With ASCII, it is pretty much played out as far as drops are concerned. Monday night, however, I would guess at least $250K worth of IDN dropped and they will have been shared between those using private script or hand regging, as none of the big drop specialists are currently bothering with IDN. Most of these dropped to the folks at IDNFs.There is a window of opportunity there that can be measured in weeks or perhaphs months, but certainly not years!
