Yes, of course they are 'risky'...

ICANN have only had 7+ years on IDN thus far, so they are bound to be :)

If you ask me, ICANN are the one's who are risky...

It's not all Vint's fault and he's right about the "technical" aspects in a way.

Without a mainstream browser to allow them, they are technically dead. Which MS has a strangle hold on in Asia over 90%.

But now that we have IE7 and it's imminent auto-update. The rest is "soon-to-be" history, read other thread....

From statistical registration data presented at the Domain Roundtable in April this year, there were direct corrolations between IDN registration increases and each incremental release of IE7. Firefox has had support since its early versions.

The final release of IE7 with its IDN support and OS integrations are a huge win for the global internet community from a perspective of offering a wider base of core native language character sets in domain names.

IDN is the new hot registration driver.

Well its a Huge Win for IE too which ppl consider as buggy and dont even dare to look while i thik its awsome 90% of the ime i use IE7 nad i hope more cool features adn ixes will come which again will make it the best browser Sorry for being offtopic
