putting this out here, and hopefully it will resolve some misunderstandings.

the google keyword tool exact match numbers, "do not"... equal, reflect, or predict the "actual traffic or actual number of visitors" a domain name will receive, if parked or if developed.

no tool, since the death of "overture", can predict with a credible amount of accuracy, the traffic or visitors a domain would receive, in advance of it's registration or post acquisition.


be clear on this, "the number of searches for a term" in a month, "does not" mean that search volume number is equal to the amount of "real people" who will/would type-in your domain name or will click on your link....even if listed on 1st page of google.


but if you don't believe what i'm saying, then feel free to keep hope alive.

As with every Google metric, Google changes its algorithms of link rank & popularity very often. The monthly local searches figure is a good indication of a keyword's popularity in searches. Indeed, it's not a warranty of 'magic traffic from heavens' for the terms matched.

Exactly, as so many assume so or allude to such in their threads.

not to mention exact match numbers aren't exact anyway, when you consider the vast number of domainers who constantly check the same terms over and over and over again.

as this influx of queries distorts any "true value", the tool could produce.

where true value, would represent which terms/phrases the general public would type-in google and how frequent they would do so, without same motives as a domainer.

There are plenty of tools you can use together to get reasonably accurate data. From there you can extrapolate what traffic will be based on serp. If you use just 1 tool such as Google KW Tool, then correct your findings will probably vary within a normal deviation of actual volume. But then again this applies to most things in life.

It is a good indicator of search popularity but always prone to error. Guestimating a name or traffic is extremely difficult. Some names with 100s of exact searches for exact url "xxxxx.com" actually receive nothing. You need multiple tools coupled with the right amount of common sense.
