I read your news article and then checked a few .mobi names at http://pc.mtld.mobi/whois/index.php.

I was suprised to find Bets.mobi registered using a dead TM registration number (76/309670) for bets.com. http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=al1ouq.6.1

Domain registrant and TM registrant details do not appear match in this case. Therefore have there been some 'creative' registrations of the .mobi up to this point ?

I was under the impression that the hot domains to get for mobile connections was any domain with the letter "M" preceding it. Like, mscores.com, mdirections.com, mconcerts.com, mHeadlines.com, etc. (those are mine, should i dump now that .mobi is coming?)

I didn't know that 'M'domains were for mobiles. Maybe you could try the appraisals section for other opinions.

Few, if any, have heard this imo.

thats not fraud..what is though, the fact that a company decides to launch .mobi and holds on to premium domain names..close to 5500 with the intention of pocketing $50 million

I just hope they bite the dust :cheeky:
IMO we won't see a landrush like .eu.
Maybe the next TLD approved by ICANN will be .hype :greenembarrassed:

I read somewhere they asked for TradeMarks old at least years to prove to be genuine and in good faih.......is this true?

I already found some names with TM old less than 1 year.
