I'm trying to decide if I should include the one allowed link unit on my pages with 3 ad units and a search or get rid of it.

I actually set up the page with the link unit, as I thought it listed advertisers like the ad units do, however, clicks on the link unit just take you to a page of google listings very similar to a google search page.

I'm wondering if I should leave it or if it's just taking up realestate and wasting clicks.

Anyone have an opinion?

Thanks,

I think you can have three ad units, two link units and one search on a page. Sprinkle them around. You can make each one a channel then monitor the CTR and kill the non performing ones.

3 ad units, 2 search boxes and 1 link unit.

That's a good idea, I was putting them all on the same channel by sitename, but it's a better idea to put the link units on channel "sitename-lu" or something like that, I hadn't thought about that.

I was just worried because the ad units go to more of a landing page that looks much like Google itself, where surfers are likely to think that's not where they want to be, and wasting the click that they thought led to a site.

My search boxes I have customized to display my custom layout and logo so they feel continuity has not been broken.

Different channel for the link units is a good idea.

Thank you,
