Transfers from bank account free for both PayPal and Wallet.

Using a card with PayPal is 2.9% interest plus an additional 30 cents.
A card with Wallet is a flat 2.9% with a minimum of 30 cents.

With many transactions, that additional 30 cents can build up on PayPal.

Using Wallet, you will be able to send an "attachment" of money straight from your Gmail account.

It appears that Wallet has better fraud protection and claims are processed faster.

Is Wallet the next PayPal? Who will start sending money via Wallet rather than PayPal?

In paying employees biweekly alone using Wallet over PayPal, I will cut costs of $12 monthly, which can be 2 hand regs a month (strictly speaking coupons and promotions of course) and even more with domain purchases if the seller agrees upon Wallet.

I think after my ~14 year membership with PayPal is coming to an end unless they can come up with better competitive rates.

The 30 cent savings can surely add up.

Good way to compare it. However, eBay owns PayPal and it's rather integrated. Not sure about Google Wallet, so if you're an active seller you might not be able to use that as a payment option there.

Cheaper than payroll and buying domains / services though. The costs are thin, but imagine a yearly savings of $200-$300, just because that 30 cents.

It may just be Google's strategy to compete with PayPal in the beginning and raise rates later though.

cost difference would be irrelevant, as a deciding factor to switch

the more ways you can send money, the more ways your money can be stolen.
