I just picked this up today. I think this is a pretty intuitive name for a forum for graphics pros as well as amateurs needing to figure out how to do something on their website. What do you think?

I think it is Perfect for that use Greggish - nice pickup and I would think there would be a LARGE audience for such a forum.

Thanks. I've been watching this as well as a bunch of other decent names that have expired. I really have to get one of those scripts that automates the checking. Right now I just have a notepad list of a bunch of domains with teir expiry dates and I try to check them every few days. I usually miss getting them. I think this one dropped today but I haven't checked it for a few days. I guess I got lucky.

My list showed this expired 10-13-2002. I'm surprised it dropped so quickly. I wish I wrote down which registrar it was with.

Domainaholic, I see you used vbulletin for resellertalk.com. I'm thinking of using phpbb for graphicstalk.com. Just curious why you chose vbulletin?

I actualy prefer phpBB - but that vB was inherited from a site I used to host. It's webmaster was nice enough to pass it on - and I'm not one to refuse a a free vB.

Do you have a particular interest in graphics or do you develop it with an eye toward adding value for a future sale?

Just curious...

I consider selling everything I own if the price is right. :D But unless someone offered a very good price I would probably hang on to this, because it's pretty easy to set up a forum site and I doubt I would be able to find a better name for a graphics forum.

frontrowmktg, I don't have a particular interest in graphics but my friend is a Photoshop expert so I'm sure he could help with adding any needed content. I also own HostingForums.com (not up yet) and thought this would dovetail nicely with that.

Yup, I've got a vbulletin license laying around thought about selling it. But would rather put it to use.

LinkDomain and TexasFilly, thanks. TexasPhilly, I noticed that you're using vBportal. Do you like it, and is it easy to work with? I've been trying to decide if I will use vBulletin or phpBB for GraphicsTalk.com. I found a couple of sites that are using a new hack for phpBB called ezPortal...

ezportal is definately worth looking into

vb vs phpbb - vb all the way for me

phpportal is a great piece of software and integrates well with vb but it is a resource hog and uses up a lot of cpu time - it is basically a hacked postnuke which was developed to integrate with vb
