I had two .US names accepted to be listed at GreatDomains a couple of months ago. They never put them up after I completed the agreement, so I figured I would submit them again. I got this response back:

Bob,

You may have received our rejection emails on the other .us domain names
you submitted.

I wanted to send you a quick note because they are very good domain
names and they do meet our criteria. The reason we cannot list these at
this time is because we will be removing all of the .us, .cc, .biz and
.info names in the next month or so.

Please check back later as our business model may change again!

Thanks very much and the best of luck to you.

GreatDomains works for dot coms but for the most part any other listings just gather dust there outside of Vegas.tv and ufo.org.

I have Forms.net there and it has never seen the front page. I asked them for a redirect for parking and they said that they don't do parking. They said if I like I can direct it to the front page. I don't plan on keeping it there to gather anymore dust............

GreatDomains.com is owned by Verisign.

Enough said.

Apparently not. DN Journal will be announcing the sale of two more .info "tulips" tomorrow - one at $10,000 and one at $4,000. There is a plenty of money being spent on new extensions. If GreatDomains doesn't want their share that's their business.

That's TOO funny... they will list .TV, which is close to worthless, but won't list .INFO which has consistant 4 and 5 figure sales. Something smells like Verisign thinking, rather than business planning.

on a side note:

I like .tv for branding.

better than .ws, .cc, .nu, .bz, .biz

Because its extremely recognized as a term 'tv'.

Check ovt for sex.tv

However I see no reason to yank the other extensions.

you never know what their reasoning is..

They only push TV on their site because they manage it's registry.

Ofcourse, I don't doubt that.

It could be they want to make it like they want to have only "good" names.

(making .tv look like its a top ext)

are the .tv's listed owned?

or are they the premium ones from www.tv

or mixed?

just a thought.

Just got word on two more 4-figure .info sales this week. .Infos are going to be very strong on the new weekly report tomorrow with ALL of them in either four or five figures.

I have a .us for which I have refused a five figure $ offer. Guys at Greatdomains feel that domain does not deserve to be on their website. GREAT !!! Did I say GreatBrains?

I like .tv for branding.

Very much agree.

On the registration side, I think .TV is a very good extension. Gets tones of publicity from all those larger sites that use .TV (as well as Verisign's marketing).

On the reseller side, .TV sucks.

But I must agree .tv is a good extension, and it's no surprise that it gets more publicity than .org on GreatDomains.

Its insane to see so many bad .tv domains on greatdomains. I'm not a big fan of .tv domains. In some cases, I like them, but in those rare cases, the domains are to expensive to register anyways. I would prefer to have "exampleTV.com", then "example.tv".
