I would just like to butt in and say that just because someone started to turn the thread into an auction and others followed (no criticism intended) does not alter the fact that Beachie originally and subsequently made it clear that he would accept the best offer and requested offers by PM or email.
He received an email offer of $1800 and made it clear to all via the thread so everyone had an opportunity to improve on it if they wished. Beachie accepted that offer when it was not beaten in the time allotted - to me that seems absolutely right and proper and not warranting complaints, accusations or adverse comments.
Beachie is an honourable domainer.

I really just wanted to keep it fair for everyone, so there would be an opportunity to bid. The final bid came after the $1500 bid from Yakov, so I didn't want a situation where he thought he had the highest bid, and didn't have an opportunity to get the name.

I think the name sold for the right price - not too high, not too low..
