When you (if) have finished reading this post you will understand the joy I am having, I feel Great (sarcasm!).

I got home at around 4PM today, Had info etc ready from my newly ordered dedicated server, First things First, install webmin control panel, then apache, mod_perl, mod_rewrite, ftp, mod_ssl and other things, configure everything, 9:20 PM, My last command and I make a typo, A really bad one.

Instead of: yum list openssl - I typed yum remove openssl

Most modules have a dependency on openssl therefore went too, I watched all my work dissapear in front of me, I then type in yum install openssl only to find the yum command is broken and im stuck with regular SSH.

I contacted the Datacenter and hopefully tommorow Ill have everything backup, I get 3K uniques per day, and increasing on this site, Users will go elsewere :(

There is my moaning stupid idiotic ARGHHH story!!!

Please share any experiences where you put in time and effort only for it to go to ruins. ( I know worse than this has happened to many of you, But I can still go on about it, right?)

PS. My keyboard got it when I broke it, Im glad it dont have feelings.

And from the datacentre:

"You managed to remove basically all packages on this system except the kernel itself. RPM and yum are both gone. You will need to put in a reload request for this server in order to get it back online. Please use the following URL to submit a reload request"......

Oh Joy!
