Hey, Born Wild,
don't worry about the DNF bucks, I was just kidding. Wouldn't know what to do with them anyway (newbie still
).
Multiple trademarks are possible because you trademark not only a name but a name for a specific class of services or products.
(Sorry edisaacson, didn't see your post).
So Thunderbirds could be in class Electronics and another Thunderbirds-registration could be in class Paper-stuff. That's perfectly fine (as long as the trademark is not a famous one, because then the concept of dilution of a famous mark comes in).
The problem is, that a domain-name is unique and has no product/service class attached to it. So if the TM-owners are greedy they can say "Hey that's mine, even if the guy is selling shoe soles on the site!" and there's a chance he might even be right. If you do anything on the site that is even similar to the TM-class, then you are in deep s..t anyway
All stuff I had to learn lately as I am also wrestling with a big (did I say big?) domain that has TM-strings attached. (But I have no intentions on selling it but rather want to fulfill a life-dream of mine and doing some good with it). Tough uphill battles though
Hope this helped.
