Purposely didn't put anything in the title about Michael Jackson

Google loves DNforum lol

Already!!!! after hearing about the very sad news of Micheal Jackson I went to Ebay purposely because I knew damn well there would already be domains for sale about his death and sure enough I found a parasite selling

michealjacksonmemorial.com

Who wants get this US $60,000.00 for Buy it Now!!!!

and another Parasite selling MichealJacksonDead.com

with captions such as

 • Make Money With This Site:
 • Perfect to Park for Google Adsense!
 • Build instant credibility! (Instant credibility for being a cock) I added that BTW
 • Resell to a domain name collector!
 • Hold as an Internet Investment!
Just makes me sick you would stoop that low and so bloody fast, what do you guys/girls think about this?

This is hardly the worst side of domaining. Expect to see many businesses profiting over Micheal Jackson's death. All news networks profit off of others misfortunes too, so do many other companies...

Domainers also register domains based on good news stories, and neutral news stories as well...

I have never registered one of these bad news domains or any news related domains btw.

The worst side of domaining IMO is simply ignorance of the value of domains which results in low sales figures and makes domaining look like a hobby at best. Also results in unprofessionality within the domain business. People don't take it seriously.

HI

Many MJ domains have now been taken and you can see many popping up on ebay...

Also people are screen printing t-shirts now and selling them on ebay.. and on the streets near the hospital where he is now.

Also I read on the net that some phone companies.. are sending out sms texts about the news... to their customers and then sending a followup saying go here to get MJ's best ever hits..

I also found a forum... BH seo forum where people are talking about ways to profit from MJ's Death....

Also found... some blogs and forums that say Nostradamus predicted his death and farrell fawcett's death...

It went something like this...

The boy king who walked backwards is silenced
And the children gather no more around the throne
Tears fall across the territories
And fires will rage thereafter

Thx
Tom

I think I used to own something like JailJacko

Oh well.

Opportunists are every where.

And you really can't blame these people for making a buck.

At the same time, when the media does profiles on these vultures (including domains, dominers, domaining) then there is no difficulty finding fault.

None of you should really be surprised, This happens every time a famous person dies and makes the headlines. If it's not a famous person, it's a tragedy like 911 or Virginia Tech.

Domainers even tried to sell Steve Irwin domains remember?.... Where do these people come from?

Attempting to capitalize on anyone's death is disgusting, It's what low life's do. And YES, it gives Domainers a BAD name.

I recall when domainers snatched up VTech domains and listed them on Ebay, a few were members here and they thought it was OK to list them here as well... Those Ebay auctions for VTech domains made Cable news and I really think it hurt us, My guess is MJ domains will also make the news and it will remind people once again what horrible people domainers are.

What infuriates me the most is; It's all for NOTHING, Most of these domains are worthless and will likely never sell, If you reg'd a good one, you might get some traffic for a week or two before MJ's death loses steam.... As for Ebay, you can expect them to remove the pages during the next month or so, as it's against Ebay policy to list any items that capitalize on a tragedy, soon after a tragedy.

I thought the Virginia Tech domains were distasteful but what's wrong with
MichaelJacksonMemorial.com? Could make a good site and a fan might find a
legitimate use for it. Business isn't all candy and showgirls.

A respectful site created as a memorial is fine.

But the idiot(s) who register such names yesterday or today solely to profit are just sick people who are looking to profit on someone else's death.

It makes us as domainers look bad, but all we can do is ignore these sad people and move on.

Same old story.
The world is full of egoistic people.
The domain industry is the same.

Interesting how almost no one bats an eyelash at all of this (the t-shirts, ring tones, news stories) but they all jump on domainers for doing practicably the same thing - just in a virtual industry.

It's the same thing as CNN, HLN, FOX, CNBC, Larry King and everyone else having split second MJ memorials on TV last night. They also make money from this....

You'll never know - ratings are up so they're probably charging more for commercial time. I'm sure also that if these networks have their 30/60/120 minute tribute shows for MJ that they'll charge though the roof for a 10 second spot - probably passed only by large events like sports playoffs and championships etc..

Absolutely right. Of the 190 domains on eBay right now with "Jackson" in the title, only about 10 have bids, and only 2 or 3 have bids of more than $10 (all are less than $15). So those losers are playing a losing game - especially since many of them paid premium listing fees.
