Just wondering have you ever registered a domain name, then down the track let it expire ... then down the track again, you decide to re-register it again?

I did with **.com and .org as this is my next project. An enviromental Forum coming soon!

I let a name drop about three years ago thinking it wasn't worth what I thought it might be worth.

A domain investor picked it up, and let it drop the following year.

I picked it up again and don't plan to drop it now. At the very least I will put up a small site now.

HI

Some times I let a domain name expire that is with a weird domain register and then just reg it again with a company like Enom or Godaddy this way I do not have to deal with the transfer from one register to another.... But the name has to be something not everyone is looking for :)

Thanks

I let a name expire, but not drop. It went on hold, then I renewed it. 2 weeks later I sold it to someone who was going to go after it during the drop. :)

I have once with a domain I felt like starting on a site again. But if I own a devoloped site I always renew it like 2 months before expiration .

In my poor early entrepreneur days, when domains were $35/year, I made the terrible mistake of letting the .com of my (personal) name drop. Someone with the same name grabbed it and has held it ever since. Boy do I regret that :-(
