New to the selling game , although iv'e been sort of collecting for years lol

I have been doing a bit or reading on this site and was impressed enough to buy a membership :) looking forward to meeting and learning!

I have a few questions to start off not sure if I should ask them here, but im going to anyway :)

1. I have had a webhost for years now and that is where I also keep my domain names but, from the research I have done so far i am thinking I need a new registrar (to buy new domains and transfer my existing ones) one that will be more compatible with places like sedo (my current registrar is not on the sedomls list) so my question is if I should get a different registrar? and if so and suggestions?

2. I have a listed a few on sedo but am unsure of a price to ask for on some of the ones I have had for a while, and that I think are "better then average". what is a good way to come up with a decent starting value (besides sedos auto pricing thing which seems to be more of a Joke)?

3. kind of in the same realm as question #2 but what are thoughts on backwards spelled domains?

anyway I know im going to come up with a lot more :) but that will do for now lol

Great to be here and can't wait to meet some fellow "domainers"

Hey, Welcome to DNF :)

To answer your questions:

1. I use Moniker and GoDaddy. Easier to push the buyer when a sale is made.

2. Take Adam Dicker's suggestion and put $1,288 as min. price tag on your domains. Read the posts from DNF College http://www.dnforum.com/f634/

3. Can you give some examples?

Use sites like http://namebio.com or http://dnsaleprice.com to track domain sales that are similar to ones you hold. You can price the domains better that way.

Thanks for the welcome silentg :)

Your answers to my question are awesome thank you

as far as examples to "backwards spelled domains" I not sure if you meant an actual domain name I have or what i meant by backwards? Im not sure I can post the actual names according to the rules but an example of what i meant would be like gtnelis.com instead of the silentg.com but I was thinking more popular single dictionary type names are they worth getting?

I am off to do more research ......

btw I recieved my first "scam" offer lol which I figured out right away thanks to this site.
now if only real offers were that easy to get ;)

Nope i wouldn't register backwards spelled names. LLL/LLLL/NNN/NNNN/1 word/keyword/geo domains sell well.

Welcome aboard Bootless! I'm pretty new here too. Make sure you check out this thread from a few months back. It's chuck full of nuts, as is this forum! No pun intended... although there seems to be some of those too! http://www.dnforum.com/f31/whats-mos...ml#post2078382
Best of luck and also don't forget to get yourself into DNFCollege here!

Welcome! If a backward spelled name is pronounceable it might be interesting.
