Hello! - best way to get stats?

Hi, I'm John, just bought my membership and am new to the forums.:yes:

This site is such a wealth of information.

My first question is:

What is the best way to get stats on a domain, such as traffic? (uniques, etc.)

Is this something you can do with a registrar? (which ones?)

Or would it be better to put trackers on an assigned hosted index page?

Or through a parking service?

I signed up on Sedo, though it takes ~2 business days for them to even begin to give you stats on the third day. Are other services faster? I'd like to be able to start gathering stats much sooner.

Parking service will be your fastest indicator with the least amount of work on your end.

So when I park a page, I will always have to wait for that transfer period to the parking service?

Are there any parking services that are faster than others?
(Maybe Moniker/trafficclub because they are linked together?)

you won't be "transferring" anything except who will be serving your pages.

You only have to change the "nameservers" of the domain for it to resolve on the nameservers of the parking service that you use.

ex:

since you are using sedo, you would change ns for your domain to "ns1.sedoparking.com and ns2.sedoparking.com, then just add your domains to sedo. or add domains first, then change ns.

I've used mostly all of the parking services and none resolve any faster than others imo. however, some may have more or less "outages" than others.

welcome to dnf john, yeah parking is the best way to get an accurate indication of your domain's stats. After you start receiving stats with sedo, you will be able to see your stats almost in real time
