I think it's time for me to open a company to manage my online business. I wasn't allow to operate a company back when I have a full time job. I have been going by the name Varchar since I own Varchar.com. However, my core business is web development including java/php web development and selling scripts online. I have been thinking how I should name my new company. Should I find another domain which is more related to what I do?

Thanks.

Regards,

Kawing

and if you want members to submit their names, let us know and we can move this to "Advertising" so they can post or pm them.

or you could start a thread in "Domains Wanted".

Thanks and Good Luck

Create your own name, register it in every TLD and you're good to go.

Sorry for the confusion. I am not really looking to buy a domain. I am just thinking how I should name my company when I incorporate it. Varchar Inc.; Varchar Software Development; Varchar Domain etc.

I have some domain in mind as well such as WebsiteScript.com and even Kawing.com. I want to be able to tell people my company name and they will know I do the following:

Domain Trading
Web Design
Software Development
SEO and more...

Thanks.

Regards,

Kawing

It is not always a good idea to include what you do in your name
It is kind of limiting
Think of the unknown in the future
You don't want to put people off
And you can't include everything
IMHO if you own kawing.com and it is your name and it is available to incorporate , it is obvious
Call your company kawing
If you are any good at what you do, people will remember that name and associate it with what you do
It is also a point of differentation from other competitors
Best of luck mate
Enjoy what you do with your new company

I think
Varchar Internet Development or
Varchar Internet Management or
Varchar Internet Solutions
just about covers it all.
Good luck!

I was looking at changing my business name for the very reason given above, Limited to one area, but I do all sorts of business and work online. Anyhow in my search for renaming my business I found an article in Entrepreneur (the magazine) and went looking further on their website, lots of great stuff to read and think on.

Clicky to see them all

Another way than registering a good company name then paying big bucks to buy the domain name, is to find the domain name first.

Go to somewhere like domaintools and search unregistered names liker varcherxxxxx. Select a good name from the list that you can buiy for 10 bucks then register the name as a company.
Good luck!
