Excellent, you're a star :)

This isn't my computer and I see that the Fn key plus Num Lk switches the numbers on "permanently".

You've made my day. Thanks.

Same thought here - switching the NumLk on gives your typing a s6rt 6f rea3 -r6b3e0 4n3ess and 4nt53 you unlock it :-D

Can happen by accident - it may be operated with the Fn and NumLk or Shift/NumLk or Ctrl/Numlk)

Just beat you to the post Mr Webname. You are quite right - that's what happened and I'm glad It's fixed.

I've only just this minute noticed that the alternate characters are inscribed on the keys, but hardly noticeable. If I had noticed these, I might have twigged myself.

I notice that you and jquail are both from the UK. I'm back here myself for a two month visit to my country of origin.
