Hey all, I am brand new to domaining. Been a member for a while and finally decided to take the plunge. Just bought my first domain! :O

I have a quick question though, is it a good idea to park it while I figure out exactly what I want to do with it? My understanding is that parking can make your domain earn money by basically doing what it would do if you just left it with the registrar.

Thanks for the help, this is all so exciting! Looking forward to being more active on these forums as well

Parking is not what used to be in terms of revenue generation. It depends on whether the domain gets traffic, the keyword and the ability of the parking page to convert traffic into clicks. Katalaves? :D

parking is ok while your selling the domain.

1. dont get emotional about a domain
2. dont get mad if you lose money the first 6 months [kinda like day trading]
3. dont buy expensive real estate just good real estate
4. avoid .info and .co like the plague

just My advice.

You should be prepared not to get mad at yourself if you lose $ during any long period lmfao, even years imo, it often occurs at the start of a domainer's run, true, but it can hit you mid-way just as easy.... and I'd add avoiding .biz (.us may not apply to you but it's even worse) and ANY of the newer boutique extensions, stick to com, net, org, proven ccTLDs too. I've made decent $ on some .co sales but that was some of the names I won at preregistration, good ones, but I agree .co just did not make it to say the least, and it never was a threat to king .com...:uhoh:

.....2. dont get mad if you lose money the first 6 months [kinda like day trading].......

You can say that again, acro.... :worried: aggghhhhh lol.......

Parking is not what used to be in terms of revenue generation.....
