hi fellow domainers! i'd like to introduce myself....(actually i'm quite shy, but following the advice of friend, so here goes.)

i jumped in with both feet and bought a few domain names, just to get a feel for this industry.

many of them are presently parked as i'm still working on ideas.

i've even read on here where it has been suggested to fully develop sites with seo, then take them down to re park them.
has anybody had success with that technique?

right now, with the non parked sites, i'm weighing the pros and cons of using them to:
blog, make a website, make a directory, make a forum, make a mini site OR

all of the above rolled into one, lol!

any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated for which i thank you all immensely!!!:eek:k:

Welcome!

I am not sure why you would perform seo and then take down the website and re-park ?

If you're looking to gain traffic you are going to want to develop the names and gain visitors.

Just make sure you are doing something you like or you will give up on the website.

hi theinvestor and thank you for the warm welcome and info!

the question you raised is a good one, to whch i hope those who use this technique will answer.

i also like your sound advice....for a while i was undecided about going for a niche that interests me or a niche that is popular, and your post confirms that it's best to really have interest, thx!

Hello Allis. Welcome to DNF. Now that you've jumped into "domaining" with both feet, do plow through the threads for info and cool folks to network with. Cheers.

It doesn't work. When you park the domain, you lose your SEO and SE traffic.

thanks for helping to make me feel at home here guys!

tough business this is, though.

especially for those just starting out because there seems to be alot of contradictory information on the internet.

how do you know what's right and what's not? how is money really made in this industry?

Experience is the best teacher, but her tuition is very high.
