How can SOPA ever be realized, when even the White House won't support it?

I read some reports about SOPA sponsors using copyrighted videos and images on their site without permission from the author. Here's one: http://mashable.com/2012/01/12/sopa-sponsor/

The same thing will happen as will happen on other controversial bills. Everyone will point the finger and blame everyone else for passing it when somehow amidst all that, enough of them will have voted on it to make it pass.

It's just like congress approval rating - overall in single digits, but most people do approve of their own representative, because they all simply point the finger at everyone else for all the problems caused by Congress.

Hopefully with more organization targeted against certain egregious members of congress that support all the bad bills, change can happen if not slowly. I've seen some interesting developments on Reddit to this effect.
