You can test a domain at moniker.com for a few days (don't remeber how many exactly), and return the domain for ICann fess only, I believe 0.25 cents.

More of an art than a science. Search keywordkeyword or "keyword keyword" in google and see if there are a lot of results.

Also, traffic is not the only factor. Click through and advertiser pay per click rates matter.

If you have a domain with 100 uniques a day but little or no clicks, not much value but if you have a lower traffic domain with high click through rate AND high advertiser pay per click, then you are better off.

So, traffic is only one of three factors to consider. Ask yourself about click through rate (ads being relevant to visitor) and advertiser pay rate (more advertisers mean higher bids)

For the record, that's called "domain tasting" and although everybody complains about it and loaths people that do it, many people do it anyway.

Most of the time, it's huge corporations that buy up all the good ones in this manner so that you, the little guy, never get a chance.

Odds are, the domain you are tasting has been tasted and spat out already.

Don't get me wrong, there is still opportunity in this business... just not the "walk along the beach and trip over a Pirate's Treasure" that it was in the late 90's or even the early 2000's.

Good luck,

You can get a very rough idea by typing in the domain.com into the Overture keyword tool. It will always show less than the domain gets, but if it gets 0 then you know its of little value. I reg'ed a typo once that showed 74 on OVT and in fact it got about 150-200 a day.

Ok I'm guessing this method is only effective for .com's

What if it's a typo?
