Ok, there's an IDN that I really want. It displays as being available but it clearly isn't. For names that show as available, I can not get any whois info for them. Is there any software or any way to circumvent this. For instance is there anyway for me to see who owns the name and in what other language the same puny code is being used? I want the name but can't track the owner? Please help!
Thanks!

The variant issue mainly occurs among Kanji (JP), Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese, and to a lesser extent, Hanja (KR) and old Vietnamese.

The punycode is different among variants -- they're really entirely different domains as the unicode points are different.

It won't work in all cases, but have you tried translating the same term into the other 2 main variant languages and then checking the whois?
