4.cn is the largest domain market in China. It is the best place to auction numeric, Chinese Pinyin and short domains. As we all know, Chinese are huge fans for numeric domains and fond of choosing numeric domains as the name of their websites, such as 163.comï¼17173.comï¼5173.com. Domains with 8 is their favorite while the number 4 is disfavored. Due to the different cultures, auction format in China is quite different from that in United States. It is known to all the domainers that at sedo.com, we need to get the account verified prior to entering the auction. However, at 4.cn, rather than account authorizationï¼you have to submit auction requests. There are two auction types at 4.cn: 1.Transfer domains to their designated accounts before the auction; 2. 200 RMB (30 USD)/ domain is required to be sent as the guarantee deposit. More guarantee deposit will be asked if the domain is in high value. At the end of the auction, these deposits will be refunded. You can paypal the funds to 4.cn, and then they add the funds to your 4.cn account. If you have plenty of premium domain names, you can apply for the golden membership with which you are free from sending the guarantee deposits and enjoy 50% discount of the escrow fee-- 4% ( Here is the email address of 4.cn 's founder: [email protected] , he is also a domain investor ). Sellers with nomal memebership are supposed to pay 8% of the escrow fee. Normally, only those whose history transaction amounts are over 50,000 RMB can update to golden membership. If you have a good reputation at 4.cn, updating to golden membership won't be a problem. When submitting the auction request, you can set the auction period by yourself. 1 to 7 days is at your option. It is very vital to set the ending time. Don't make it end at weekends when people takes break. Choose the ending time during 21:00-23:00, which is an active period. The domain can be sold for a higher price. For such high-value domains as NNN.com/ LLL.com, you can ask for setting reserve price. I guess you guys must care about how to get the funds after the transaction is finalized. It is very simple.
At the end of the transaction, the funds will be automatically released into your 4.cn account. You can submit Request Refund by either selecting paypal or wire transfer. Suppose you are in United States, you can receive the money in three business days. English dictionary domain names are not suitable to auction at 4.Cn, for they won't get the price as they deserve. 4.Cn is the home to numeric domains,LLL.Com, and Chinese Pinyin domains. Especially, numeric domains can be sold at much higher prices at 4.cn,compared with other auction platforms. For example, 886.Com is sold at 400,000 RMB, regular NNN.Com is all sold at above 100,000 RMB.
BTW, If you are buyer, before participating in the auction at 4.cn, you have to send the deposit which will be temporarily frozen. The deposit changes with your bid. For example, you made a bid of 400 RMB, then 100 RMB would be frozen. The highest deposit is 5000 RMB.
